Now

Sharing my passion with kids!

Hi, I'm Anna - founder of Sewista Studio and a lifelong sewing devotee. My journey with sewing began when I was just 10 years old, and what started as a hobby quickly grew into a true passion. I've always been drawn to the artistry, detail, and intention behind making something with your own hands, especially when it comes to clothing and the world of fashion.

I completed a 3-year technical college program in Tailoring, earned a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, and pursued sustainability studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. But no matter where my career path took me, sewing remained a constant part of my life.

Starting Sewista Studio has allowed me to share what I love most: the joy and fulfillment that comes from creating something from scratch. I believe sewing is more than just a useful skill, it's a powerful tool for young minds. It teaches patience, perseverance, problem-solving, and confidence, all while encouraging creativity and self-expression.

Whether a student is dreaming of fashion design through our popular Fashion Camps or simply wants to try something new in our weekly sewing classes, my goal is to help them fall in love with craftsmanship and discover what they're capable of - one stitch at a time.

Sewing instructor

Hi! My name is Aimee, and I'm a second grade teacher with Sarasota County Schools. I've lived in Florida for most of my life and absolutely love being part of this vibrant community. I discovered my love for sewing back in high school, and that creative spark has only grown since - especially through my passion for arts and crafts. I'm married and a proud mom to two energetic boys who always keep life interesting. We also have a sweet dog named Tiger who's very much part of the family. I'm excited to bring creativity, curiosity, and care into the classroom every day, and I truly enjoy helping young learners grow and thrive.

Hi, I’m Manivan! I moved from Michigan to Florida in 2018 and slowly but surely fell in love with the sunshine, the beaches, and the inviting, creative pace of life here. I’ve been married for 20 years, and I’m a proud mom of three little ones, one boy and two girls, all under 11, who inspire so much of my joy and creativity. Creativity has always been part of who I am. I still remember taking my first sewing class in middle school, and that moment opened the door to everything I love today. Fashion especially sparked something in me. While I don’t sew full outfits, I’m great at the essentials like stitching up a hole or sewing on a button, and those small but meaningful skills have stayed with me. I love connecting with new people, encouraging others, discovering great food, and approaching everything I do with care and intention. Whether I’m taking photos, spending time with my family, or finding new ways to learn and grow, I love creating moments that feel intentional and full of care.
